Abstract
The Effect of the AMRAP Method on the Enzyme (A.L.D) and the Endurance Performance of Straight and Hook Punches in Young Boxers
The research problem focused on the fact that, through the researchers’ field experience, they identified the issue of their study by noticing the appearance of fatigue at the end of each round, which causes a noticeable decrease in the overall performance of offensive punching skills (straight and hook punches). This decline leads to slower movement and transitions inside the ring, reduced concentration in executing punches, and consequently failing to obtain enough points to win. This negatively affects the boxer and results in losing a significant amount of energy that may be decisive in the bout, in addition to the limited use of modern training methods, including the AMRAP method. Therefore, the researchers decided to conduct this experiment by applying the AMRAP method, which is expected to have an effect on the (A.L.D) enzyme and the endurance performance of straight and hook punches in young boxers.
The research aimed to identify the effect of the AMRAP method on the enzyme (A.L.D) and the endurance performance of straight and hook punches in young boxers. The research population consisted of young boxing athletes from clubs of the Middle Euphrates region for the 2022–2023 season… The sample was selected randomly and consisted of (10) players. Four players were chosen for the exploratory experiment… The participants were divided into two groups (experimental and control) using the simple random method (lottery). Data were collected and statistically processed using the SPSS program..
The most important conclusions were:
– The AMRAP-based exercises contributed to the improvement of endurance performance of straight and hook punches in the experimental group.
– The improvement in the (A.L.D) enzyme level in the blood positively influenced the development of endurance performance of straight and hook punches in the experimental groups.
The recommendations were:
– Emphasizing the use of training exercises based on the AMRAP method according to scientific training principles..
– Adopting AMRAP exercises as essential components in boxing training..
– Regulating training loads of AMRAP exercises according to gender and biological age due to their highly positive physiological impact..
